MceSim: A Multi-Car Elevator Simulator
نویسندگان
چکیده
Multi-Car Elevator (MCE) systems, which consist of several independent cars built in the same shaft, are being considered as the elevators of the next generation. In this paper, we present MceSim, a simulator of MCE systems. MceSim is an open source software available to the public, and it can be used as a common testbed to evaluate different control methods related to MCE systems. MceSim was used in the group controller performance competition: CST Solution Competition 2007. This experience has proven MceSim to be a fully functional testbed for MCE systems. key words: CST Solution Competition, multi-car elevator, group control, evaluation

Based on Multi-Factors Grey Prediction Control for Elevator Velocity Modulation
This paper uses the double-factors grey prediction and the fuzzy controller for the elevator car speed control. We introduce double-factors grey control to predict car vibration for elevator speed during the operation. Simulation results show that based on multi-factors gray prediction fuzzy PI control for elevator velocity modulation system closer than simple gray fuzzy PI control elevator spe...
متن کاملPso and Tabu Search Approaches for the Car Allocation Problem in Multi-car Elevator Systems
Heavy vertical traffic conditions appear in high-rise buildings especially during the rush-hour period. So, offered service provided by multi-car elevator systems for such buildings during that period is expected to work fast, efficiently and without long waiting times for users. The approach of our work focuses on reducing the passengers travel and waiting times. To do so Particle Swarm Optimi...
متن کاملA Problem and Its Solution for Multi-Car Elevator Group Control
Multi-car elevator (MCE for short) systems have been receiving increasing attention these days. An MCE has two or more cars in one shaft. It is difficult to control MCEs by using algorithms developed for single-car elevator systems, because MCEs need to avoid collision of the cars of the same shaft. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to control MCE systems, and show the effectiveness of our...
متن کاملMulti-Car Elevator Group Control: Schedule Completion Time Optimization Algorithm with Synchronized Schedule Direction and Service Zone Coverage Oriented Parking Strategies
Multi-car elevator systems consist of shafts with two or more independent cars operating in them. Due to their special characteristics, such as the need to avoid the interference among cars in the same shaft, conventional control methods cannot be implemented on them. Therefore it is necessary to develop group control methods for multi-car elevator systems able to perform an optimal floor call ...
متن کاملPlanning and Control Models for Elevators in High-Rise Buildings
The passenger service level in an elevator system depends on the planning of the elevator group and on the control of the elevators. In this thesis the contribution of passenger and elevator traffic for an elevator group with multiple shafts is studied by simulations and theoretical analysis. During this work an elevator control system, the Traffic Master System 9000 (TMS9000), was developed. T...
